Usha Panchal is a Complex Paediatric Clinical Pharmacist and Programme Manager at BLMK CCG. She identified the need to improve medicines safety in this cohort of patients and has been involved in numerous quality improvement pilots to not only improve medicines safety but also the care, communication and interoperability between different clinical systems. She is currently working with clinicians and parents and children to co-design some functionalities of a patient held record on a digital platform. This will help patients to have a better understanding of their care and to navigate it more effectively, empowering them to become the drivers of their own health outcomes. She is also undertaking the Programme for Integrated Child Health with Connecting Care 4 Children at Imperial College and Patient Experience Course with Point of Care Foundation. She is keen for the voice of the children, parents, families and carers to be heard.
